A lover in captivity.
• A shrine to Febronia of Xenosaga • |
Febronia was Shion's caretaker, her adoptive mother so to speak. She raised the small Shion from an early age, and lived within the Uzuki household also tending to other projects and functions that needed a bit of support. Her artificial heart seemed unreal to the young Shion, whose mother was permanently stationed at the Acute Neurosis Treatment Facility near the Song of Nephilim.
During the Miltian conflict Febronia was one of the few realian who escaped the negative effects of the Song and was trying her best to protect the still young Shion. It's assumed that in the chaos, the pair ventured out to locate Shion's mom stationed in the facility, only to find a torn apart hospital and blood stained walls. Upon attempt of leaving the facility, a horde of human shaped figures launch an attack on the defenseless pair, and in a last attempt to help Shion, Febronia sacrifices herself to the mutant realian, and is eaten alive. This grotesque scene is best depicted in Shion's flashback when she first meets the apparition of Febronia in KOS-MOS' subconsciousness.
The memories of the event were one of the few that Shion has suppressed in order to try to cancel out the negative effects the events had on her mind. Upon meeting Febronia again the memories are resurfaced and Shion is forced to confront them minutes later in the form of Tiamat.
